    Expecting Grantham there Sunday. Dined at Studley. Mr. Aislabie didn't come down due to cold caught at Hackfall. Linnen nearly ready. Should a Buck be killed? Waddilove's present from Dn. Bernardo Iriarte just arrived from Mr. Dillon. Engagement of female servant from York who was recommended to him. Services available to Grantham at Newby. Scotch Gardener currently at Deanery. Negotiating wage with him. Wants £15 per annum, receiving £13 at Deanery. Waddilove prepared to pay £14. Waiting for his answer. King is a good mason, at Ripon, says Mrs. Aislabie. If table will lye well on frame will wait for Grantham's orders. Frames to be beech, no oak available. A few boughs to be trimmed off in the walks for sake of new Post Coach. Sending notice to other new preb. that Waddilove should do the whole Duty himself at Ripon tomorrow. Better to divide it for two Sundays as agreed. Understood Hendon was to be the Temple. Mr. Dillon's book, bound in Russia, arrived. Mr. Renard may make use of notice sent about Coaches. Newcastle Fly, sleeps at Boroughbridge, comes through Topcliffe next morning. Any parcels by it should be addressed to Rushtons, Boroughbridge or Topcliffe Vicarage.
