Chapel Langley S M Girls’ School log book. Index used to record staff. 22 Feb 1955 ‘Chapel Langley CSM Girls’ School came into being this morning. It opened with 347 girls on roll and 14 staff of whom two are part time.’ Ends with closing of the school 16 July packing finished, Chapel Langley school closed at 3.40pm for the last time. 17 July the school moved all the furniture and books to the Hitchin Road school building in Charles Street. After the holiday we shall re-open as Stockwood Girls’ School.’
