    Denbigh Road School was created in 1921 and consisted at this time of an Infants Department, Boys Department and Girls Department. In 1931, building work took place to address inadequate accommodation for over 800 pupils. In 1932, children under 11 were transferred to a newly created 'Junior Mixed Department' and the Boys' and Girls' Departments became Senior Boys' and Girls' Departments. In 1955, the senior boys and girls were amalgamated to form Denbigh Road Mixed Secondary Modern.
