Translation: My Lord, I have put on board ship at Marseilles the two barrels of fine oil and the case of six half bottles of liqueur that Your Excellency did me the honour of requesting. The whole was addressed to Mr [word illegible] Rodd & Co in Alicante, to whom I ask you to have the goodness to have the two attached “Connaissances” passed, so that he can reclaim the barrels and the case on the arrival of the vessels which carry them and send them to Madrid. All was not loaded on the same boat, seeing that at the time of the departure of the first, which is carrying the oil, the liqueurs were not ready, but it seems that they will arrive at about the same time in Alicante. I flatter myself My Lord, that you will be satisfied with this commission. I attach the reckoning for 135 - 14s that Your Excellency could have paid to me in Paris if convenient; I am going to stay there until the end of April, lodged at Hotel de la Croix Blanch, rue St Denis.
