Translation: My Lord, Mr Mareschal who is ill and who will however sign this letter with me, charges me with the honour of writing to Your Excellency in accordance with our annual custom, to offer him our services. The time has now arrived for us to take provident care in order to have the best provisions. Up to the present the olive trees promise an abundant harvest, and oil of very good quality, the olives being beautiful and very healthy, and the season continues favourable to them, if Your Excellency would like to have some for the coming year, with some tuna, for which the fishing may still perhaps continue this year, truffles, capers, olives, grapes, Cyprus wine and red Muscat and other things, I beg him to honour me with his orders as soon as possible. I dare to announce My Lord, that we will always execute them with the greatest care and that we will neglect nothing in order to deserve their continuation.
