Copy court roll, manor of Cranfield reciting an appointment :
- reciting conditional surrender on 25 February 1708 [1709] by Joseph Field and Thomas Reddall via Thomas Partridge, one of the capital pledges, (a) piece of arable called Road Mead and one other close containing two shilling grass, containing together 7 acres in Stellipers Field, Cranfield, to the use of Thomas Baynes of Bedford, Saint Mary, gentleman, yearly rent 3/11 to secure £92/5/- and interest;
- reciting admission of Thomas Baynes on 20 October 1709;
- reciting death of Thomas Baynes having, in his will, appointed his widow Mary and Robert Sole executrix and residuary legatee;
- reciting death of Mary Baynes having nominated in her will Ebenezer Chandler of Bedford, gentleman, Thomas Woodward of Bedford, John Taylor (son of Randall Taylor) of Bedford, gentleman, Jordan Green of Bedford, gentleman and Thomas Bigrave of Cardington, yeoman as executors;
- the estate of Thomas Baynes remained vested in Robert Baynes of Bentham [Yorkshire], gentleman;
- Ebenezer Chandler, Thomas Woodward, John Taylor, Jordan Green and Thomas Bigrave paid 5/- to Robert Baynes;
- Robert Baynes appointed Henry Horton of Bedford, gentleman and Benjamin Green of Ampthill as his attorneys to appear at the next court, be admitted and surrender (a) to the use of Ebenezer Chandler, Thomas Woodward, John Taylor, Jordan Green and Thomas Bigrave
- witnessed by John Field and Thomas Airton;
- endorsed with authorisation of 5 November 1734 for Henry Horton and Benjamin Green to surrender (a) to the use of George Wheeler of Cranfield, blacksmith [to whom Ebenezer Chandler, Thomas Woodward, John Taylor, Jordan Green and Thomas Bigrave had presumably assigned the mortgage]
