    Details of gout attack. Mr. Bell has given draughts and camphirated mixture. Waddilove caring for him. Happy that he & Grantham succeeded in replacing Jim [Worsley] in Army. Doesn't know whether he [F] has money enough in Boldero's hands to pay £50 immediately. Hasn't yet received Sir J. Gascoyne's last half year. Mr. Warden's legacy of a farm will suit Tom Pelham. Wonders why money not left to Harry or George. Remembers some pictures of Stuart's somewhere. Will not be in good setting order if confined much longer. Grantham's account of the State of the Revenue [?Reserve] would not have been believed at Newby. Presumes Sir R. Payne's visit based on presumption that newspaper accounts of Grantham's resuming Seals is true. Doesn't know how Mr. Constable's kindness [financial] can be concealed from Ralph [Worsley]. Has a fine red velvet cushion of Mr. Lister's & Cradle of Mrs. Blackett's. Is Philip [Grantham's son] a favourite in St. James Square?
