    Disapproves of Grantham's long sitting. Birthday, Levee and Drawing Room, spoke to Queen at latter. Lady Percy wore late Duchess's jewels, men in silks with coloured borders. Lord Baltimore's son, Mr. Hartford in green coat with real pearls etc... Prince of Wales danced at night. Did not dine at Lord Weymouth's, doesn't think it's a hint assumes no room for natives besides Secretary of State and whole Corps Diplomatique. Dined with Mr. Parker, Mr. Pelham, Mr. Walpole, Mr. Fortescue, Master Graves, Mr. Popham & Mr. Batt. Better society than Arlington St. Lady Pembroke's Assembly; music and commerce with Lord Irwin, Lady Harcourt & Mrs. North. Opera; Signor Offelini's voice a little gone off etc. Fritz hopes to be continued although his voice is not easily heards in large room. Nanny well received but performs little. Perhaps Madmoiselle Lucie will make first appearance in figurante etc. Dined at Mr. Dunning's at Putney with Mr. and Miss Elliott, Nanny, Mr. Parker, little boy, Tom Pelham, Mr. Lee, Mr. Hey late chief Justice of Zucker & now Commissioner of Customs, Mr. Popham, Mr. Rooke and Mr. Batt. Queen's House at night instead of Mrs. Hampden's concert to which he subscribes. House of Lords; debate on Greenwich Hospital. Duke of Richmond's speech may make a good pamphlet. Lord Camden on same side. Lord Mansfield on other side less brilliant than usual. Richmond rejected by 67 to 25. Lord Bathurst moved for no interference with legislature. Minority walked out. Committee voted that Captain Baillie's book, upon which enquiry grounded, was false and libellous. Moved by Lord Dudley. Duke of Chandos moved that Hospital improved by Lord Sandwich. Letters of Thanks from Lord Hyde. Fritz to Cambridge, staying at Dr. Watson's. Tom Pelham to Sussex next Friday, not sure when he marches. Mr. Legge, Lady Stowell's son, to marry Miss Curzon who squints abominably and has £50,000 fortune. Lord Weymouth not at House of Lords oddly. Waddilove's letter to Mr. de Puentes[?] to M. Anduaga.
