Henri in Paris. Chatham impressed with Grantham's attentions. Count Arander & Prince Salm polite in Paris. Grantham's sore throat, avoid damp. Garden of the Island to be improved by embankment towards river. Music to be sent to Mr. Paxton for Branciforte's pianoforte. Kaunitz should follow Fritz & Masin's example if he is no better. Approves of riding for Grantham in preference to solitary walks. Portugal's honeymoon over. Hopes Canora has not put Jalousies [blinds/shutters - OED] to windows as at Rejas; ominous. Commission of Grantham's for Aunt Stainforth, not explicit enough, will send a piece of her work with echantillons of the worsteds used. Aunts Stainforth & Jemmy not well. Cost about 100 guineas minus £35 for old travelling chaise & £10 for chaise used from Devon. Using Mr. Norton because of his previous fair dealings with Lord Pelham & Tom and he provided Fritz's Vis a vis. Jersey; attempt on, over; merely a gasconade or revenge for losses. Decyphered message; orders were not sent to India till after the Toulon fleet had sailed. They went by hand.
