Dined at the Pelham’s; wedding dinner to the Middleton's. Lord & Lady Middleton and the Dowager, Miss Broderick, Lord & Lady Pelham & Harriet, Mr. & Mrs. Pelham & Mr. Anderson dined. Strange, uncomfortable house. Paid £6,500 for it. No such prices given now. Went to Brooke’s, dined at Lord Pelham's. Latter goes to Stanmer tomorrow. Duke of Richmond to Brighthelmstone. Will see little of Tom. Middletons to settle at Pepper Harrow. Lord Harrington still alive. Lord Malden in town for Westminster, Duchess of Bedford having said he's the only ministerial man she'll support. The Englishman; paper published bi-weekly attributed to Charles Fox, style good etc... Mr. Oaks, Under Secretary of State is dead. Lord Carlisle said to have asked for Principal position in this Office. Saw Lord Morpeth at Carlisles. A fine boy. Ate hot cross buns with chocolate for breakfast, "as I have no daughters or sons". Parting with footman, he & Siere cannot agree. Harrow schoolboys around town. Wear hair below shoulders & over eyes. George home from Hackney. Little boy well. Must go to school some day.
