Update on Post. Travelling to London on Monday with Mr. Parker for meeting of Parliament. Would have preferred two or three weeks alone with Nanny if not for Pelham business. Not sure of future movements. Supposes Guevara succeeds Senor Estevan. Has curiosity to see Duke of Braganza. Thinks Urn far too large for Plateau. Glad Grantham went to Escurial late & time there shorter than usual. Glad he didn't go to Battue. Soap pills used to heat him. What has become of Kessel? Brunier's present will be very proper. Sell all of Fritz's wardrobe left behind. Plans for Grantham's journey home. Fritz asks approval for selling old chaise. Wants to send a carriage to Grantham from England. Thinks Zenowieff not the father of the new born child in his house. Joined a very large party to Course about four miles from Saltram. General Parker and large company dined. Whist party. Colonel Ackland fought a duel a few days before his death, not known if wounded or whether the agitation of spirits combined with poor health killed him. Children well.
