Good journey to Saltram "without a linch pin coming out or a horse stumbling, without a drop of eastern or western rain". Stayed in Blandford on way, doesn't describe it because Thomas Robinson already has previously, also because he arrived in the dark & left early morning. Stayed in Whiteway, vastly exceeded his expectations. Exeter an abominable town "with its red mud". Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Ackland there, also Mr. Parker, Therese & Nanny. All are at billiards. The patterns of damask are much wanted.
