    Parties: (i) William Griggs of Cople, yeoman; (ii) Anne Gaddesby of Willington, spinster; (iii) Walter Hancock of Willington, yeoman; Francis Brace the younger of Bedford, gentleman Reciting: - (i) was indebted to Thomas Palmer of Sandy for £15 with interest secured by a bond and the heirs of (i) were indebted to John Palmer of Cople, blacksmith for £5 and to Mathew Palmer of Cople, carpenter for £5 by virtue of a marriage settlement of 14 November 1700, Mary Palmer (now deceased) giving them the money to be paid within six months of the decease of (i); - impending marriage of (i) and (ii) in which (i) was to receive a competent sum of money as (ii)’s portion and in which (a)-(b) were agreed to be settled in trust to pay the above debts and, after payment, on (ii) as her jointure Operative Part: - (iii) paid 5 shillings to (i); - (i) released (a)-(b) to (iii) Property: (a) cottage in Cople in occupation of William Abbis the younger and an adjoining toft to the S on which a cottage lately stood; (b) close of pasture adjoining (a) containing two acres abutting on ground of Sir William Gostwick N and S, common street E and ground of William Spencer, esquire W Habendum: - to (ii) for ever, in trust to allow (i) to take rents and profits for his life, after his death in trust to raise money by mortgage or sale to pay the debts owed to John Palmer, Thomas Palmer and Mathew Palmer, in trust with residue of the money raised to buy land to be held in trust for (ii) as her jointure and, after her death, in trust for the heirs of (i) and (ii) or, for want of such heirs, to the use of the heirs of (i) (i) and (ii) both signed by mark Witnesses: - Thomas Bennett; - William Goodhall
