Supposes him to be in Rome by now. Therese received his letter on 11th. Nanny yet to receive hers from Geneva. She has a bad sore throat, confined for a fortnight. Caught from Fritz, his lasted only a few days. Visit to Grove postponed due to illness. Father goes to Mr. Page’s next Monday with Mr. Amyands. Fritz back to school same day. Now in Upper Fourth. Dr. Markham in Holland visiting wife's relations, she was a Goddard worth £10,000. He also has a prebend of Durham given on his wedding day. Pelham's family have been at Stanmer. Mr. & Mrs. Stainforth are at Bristol with poor Mrs. Bastard, case still very dubious. Sir William Robinson ill at Newby. Two of the Miss Robinsons at York. Therese pleased with Grantham's account of Italian comedy and designs. Lord Northampton married the night before last to Lady Ann Somerset. Father acquired for Therese those drawings of Lady Louis a Greville for which she got golden medal: one of Warwick Castle, the other a tree from Salvator Rosa. Therese improved in drawing; in chalks.
