Death of John Sambrook Crawley on 22 September 1895 III. Probate 17 December 1895 of will of John Sambrook Crawley, with codicil dated 19 January 1887 IV. Indenture of 5 December 1903 between (i) William James Farrer and William Joseph Jarrett; (ii) Francis Crawley; and (iii) Edgar Lubbock of London and Arthur William Leatham of Cirencester [Gloucs], by which (i) were replaced as trustees in respect of trust created by will of John Sambrook Crawley V. Indenture of 3 March 1907 between (i) Francis Crawley; (ii) Edgar Lubbock; (iii) Arthur William Leatham; and (iv) Arthur Flower of London and Arthur William Leatham replacing (ii) as trustee with (iv). VI. Indenture of 22 July 1910 between (i) Francis Crawley of Stockwood, Luton; (ii) Arthur William Leatham and Arthur Flower; (iii) Sarah Bridget Crawley of Holybourne Priory, Alton [Hants], widow; (iv) Arthur Richard Bird, Arthur Bennett Attwood, Benjamin Belgrove Franklin, and Walter James Primett, all of Luton; (v) Luton Land Company Limited. Four plots of land in the Borough of Luton as described in First Schedule [see below] conveyed by (i) to (v) at direction of (iv) with agreement of (iii) in return for payment of £16,169.5s.0d by (v) to (ii). (v) to observe covenants set out in Second Schedule. (i) covenants to construct three entrance roadways with drainage from Ridgway Road to plot (4) at his own expense within 12 months. (2) 3 acres 3 roods and 31 poles bounded on E by Biscot Road, on S by Highbury Road and other property, on W by other property of Francis Crawley, and on N by property of Henry Durler and Son. (3) 3 acres 2 roods and 4 poles bounded on N by Dallow Road, on E by property fronting Naseby Road, by Ashburnham Road, and by other property of Francis Crawley, and on W by Dallow Farm. (4) 22 acres 1 rood and 21 poles bounded on N by Stockingstone Lane, on E by property of Trustees of Ashton Charity, on S by property fronting Ridgway Road and by the proposed sites of the three entrances to be constructed from Ridgway Road, and on W by The Peoples Park and other property of Francis Crawley Second Schedule (Covenants) Luton Land Company covenant that - within 12 months they will construct roads with drainage as shown on plan - within 6 months they will erect fences as specified - none of the land will be used as the site for a hotel, public house or tavern selling beer, wines and spirits, or for any obnoxious, offensive, immoral or illegal use - a specified section of plot (1) will not be used for any trade other than solicitor, physician or surgeon, and any house built there must cost at least £200
