    Recites: Allotment by enclosure to Richard How, by which i) and ii) are now entitled each to a moiety 81 acres 2 roods 8 perches in Smeadham Hill Field and Allenbridge Mead, in occupation Thomas Shouler 32 acres 2 roods 10 perches between Radwell Pit and Fulbrook, in occupation Samuel Wooding 24 acres 3 roods 17 perches adjoining Radwell Pit, in occupation Thomas Smith Pasture late part of Lammas Grounds called Steppingtons, 13 acres 2 roods 20 perches, in occupation Richard How, Thomas Smith and Samuel Wooding 12 acres 2 roods 20 perches, part of the common hill called Wensdon Hill Common, in occupation Thomas Shouler Will of Richard How, 30 June 1763 [NC1279]. The Enclosure Commissioners allotted land worth £16..5..4 per annum more to Richard How than to Briggins How (under their parents' marriage settlement) so their father requests Richard to assign the following to Briggins:- Crabtree Meadow, 9 acres 3 roods 36 perches Under Steppington Meadow, 8 acres 3 roods 15 perches Plowed Powage 14 acres of the Hill Land that Samuel Wooding then rented to be laid out in a straight line so to be drawn to cut off the said 14 acres from that which lies next to Powage He also bequeathed to Briggins (provided he is willing to pay £1230 towards paying off his father's debts):- New dwelling house which testator had lately built in which Samuel Wooding then lived, with yards, barns etc. Rositer Lane Field 15 acres of Hill land (remainder of that let to Samuel Wooding) Hill land let to Thomas Smith at the New Inn Messuage with barns etc., in occupation Ralph French Allotments made to testator under Enclosure lying on W. side of road from London, and N. side of road leading from Aspley to Hogstye End Richard's share is now settled as:- 81 acres 2 roods 8 perches in Smeadham Hill Field and Allenbridge Mead 12 acres 2 roods 20 perches, part of Wensdon Hill Common Briggins' share as:- 32 acres 2 roods 10 perches between Radwell Pit and Fulbrook 24 acres 3 roods 17 perches adjoining Radwell Pit 13 acres 2 roods 20 perches called Steppingtons Richard pays Briggins £10 and conveys following to make the shares equal:- Crabtree Furlong (or Meadow) Under Steppington Meadow Rye Piece, 4 acres 1 rood 15 perches 14 acres of the Hill Land Briggins has decided that the conditional devise is not to his advantage and therefore refuses it, but he purchases the following for £400 from Richard:- 2 messuages in occupation Samuel Wooding and Ralph French respectively 15 acres 3 roods 34 perches (remainder of the Hill land in occupation Samuel Wooding).
