- Scope and ContentInforms Grantham that the Marquis of Torremanzanal desires to oblige his Lordship and would provide for Diego. Refers to repeated attempts and propositions in answering Diego’s views but could not fix him to promise any appointment or employment in Britain. Found it necessary to conclude the subject by requesting that Diego could wait upon him when he returned from Madrid. Addressed him in the warmest manner, on behalf of Abercrombie, but after much deliberation he admitted he did not know when it might be in his power to serve him. Now holds little hope of the success of either pretenders. Endeavours to execute the rest of his Lordship's commands tomorrow and Count Masin joins him in offering his compliments and best wishes.
