The marriage portion is £500 (advanced by Grace Millard) and a further £500 legacy to which Elizabeth will be entitled at age 21 under will of her grandfather Samuel Candish of Millbrook, gentleman. These sums are to be for the sole use of i), who in return covenants that any property to which Elizabeth will be entitled under her parent's settlement of 27 July 1821 or any other property she may acquire will be settled to her own use for life, remainder to his use for life, remainder to her children.
