Conveyance on 23 October 1926 by Charles Henry Course of Maulden, smallholder, to John Goodman of Water End, Maulden, market gardener, for £700 of: (a) messuage or dwelling house at Hall End, Maulden on northern side of main road to Ampthill containing 17 poles [shown in pink on attached plan]; and (b) 1a 3r 2p of land known as Chapel Field at Hall End, Maulden (incorrectly stated in conveyance to Goodman as in Clophill) on SW side of main road from Bedford to Clophill and adjoining (a) [shown in yellow on attached plan] III and IV. Land registry searches against John Goodman, 30 September 1929 and 28 May 1930 V. Mortgage dated 30 May 1930 by John Goodman to Francis William Peck of Dunstable Street, Ampthill and Alfred Thomas Morris of Devon Road, Cheam for £900 of properties (a) and (b) above together with 2 houses recently built by Goodman abutting the main road to Bedford. Endorsed with memorandum that by conveyance of 6 April 1932 part of the piece of land in (b) with 30 ft frontage to the Bedford Road with a house known as Resthaven was transferred from John Goodman to Harry Middleton and discharged from the mortgage, with £500 paid to F.W. Peck and A.T. Morris. VI. Death of Francis William Peck, 23 January 1955 VII. Grant of probate to widow Mildred Peck, 24 March 1955 [deleted] VIII. Transfer on 16 May 1956 of outstanding £400 mortgage from A.T. Morris to A.T. Morris and Charles Leonard Winterforde Codrington reciting abstract of title supplemental to mortgage of 30 May 1930 [V above] in respect of 151 Clophill Road, adjoining land, 19 Bedford Road, and "Resthaven", Bedford Road (since sold). Conveyance on 12 June 1956 from John Goodman, formerly of 151 Clophill Road but now of 19 Bedford Road, Maulden, retired market gardener, to Cyril George Humphries of Clophill Road, Maulden, for £3,250 of 151 Clophill Road and 1 acre 2 roods 25 poles of land. Released from mortgage by A.T. Morris and C.L.W. Codrington [memoranda endorsed on conveyances of 23 October 1926 and 30 May 1930 attached]
