  • Scope and Content
Translation: Milord, I am back here on my way back to my own country. I went to the French Consul for a passport and was told that they only gave them to subjects of the Realm. I went to the government where I was told that they only gave them for leaving the Realm and that I should apply to the Minister of State. This I cannot do without troubling Your Excellency. I therefore pray that you will have the goodness to obtain a passport for me ,or a permit from your office, so that I may travel through Barcelona without problem. I thank Your Excellency for your kindness and if you would be so good as to have it sent to your Residence I will come to collect it there. I beg Your Excellency to forgive me for taking this liberty and for any other matter in which I may have caused offence. Wishing you perfect health, with all possible respect and humility, I am Your Excellency’s very humble and submissive servant, F Languetin.
