Lease and release dated 6 & 7 April 1809 – purchase by John Payne of Maulden, wheelwright from Ezra Eagles of Ampthill and wife Sarah (nee Medcraft) of two tenements in Maulden in the tenure of Nathan Linford, and adjoining plot of land measuring 2 roods 5 perches used as a garden occupied by John Payne and John Dinney [see WE1008-1009 for details and schedules of previous deeds] II. Final concord of Easter 1809 between Charles Hailey and Ezra Eagles and wife Sarah relating to 4 messuages, 4 cottages, 6 barns, 6 stables, 6 gardens, 12 acres land, 4 acres meadow and 4 acres pasture in Maulden and Clophill [see WE1010] III. Will of John Pain dated 29 September 1842, proved by Samuel Burrows 24 April 1846 [X951/2/1] IV. Codicil to will of John Pain, late a wheelwright but then out of business, stating he had borrowed £40 against estate in tenure of Thomas Kempson [see X951/2/1]; death of John Pain March 1846; death of James Maddams (executor) November 1845; death of Samuel Burrows intestate 11 May 1847 and grant of administration to his son and heir John White Burrows 5 November 1847 V. Agreement dated 30 March 1854 by Charles Moore of Maulden as purchaser of the greater part of John Pain's estates in Maulden to produce documents in respect of the two parts still unsold (1) Mrs Pain's tenements, and (2) the tenements devised to Mrs Currington for life and to John Kempson in reversion.
