    Deed of enfranchisement 1) Lord St John of Melchbourne 2) Norman Magnus Macleod of Macleod, Dunvegan Castle, Isle of Skye the Reverend Spencer Buller, Weybridge Rectory, Surrey 3) Charles Ernest Wells, Bedford, major reciting that Lord St John is tenant for life of the manor of Tillbrook, Bedfordshire, under the will of Lord St John proved in 1888, and 2) are the trustees of the will Enfranchisement by 1) to 3) in consideration of £47..17s..2d of ... a public house called The Three Shuttles with pightle or orchard in Tilbrook, late occupied by John Clarke, now Herbert Dawson, and a close of 2 acres 2 roods nearby to hold in fee simple Note: Under the Act of 1806 [SJ390], the manor of East Haddon and lands there (609 acres), two farms and land at Downham, Upwell and Littleport in Norfolk and Cambridge (378 acres), and a house on Ludgate Hill, London, were sold. In 1810 the manors of Woodford were sold. There is also a reference to a sale (or exchange) of land in Riseley with W Day in 1846 [SJ1982] and in 1857 to Mr Ackroyd [SJ1108]
