    - to brother Joseph Franklin for life - annuity of £10, charged on all property in Leighton Buzzard, provided he settles the three years' arrears of rent owing to the testator for estate at Watford, Hertfordshire, within 6 months of testator's death to trustees William Firth of Leighton Buzzard, gentleman, J Cooper of Leighton Buzzard, farmer, and Joseph Burnham of Aylesbury, gentleman, in trust for J Franklin, eldest son of late nephew J Franklin, in tail, remainder to nephew Thomas Franklin, son of late brother Thomas Franklin, in tail, remainder to nephew William Franklin, in tail, remainder to Arthur Franklin, another son of late nephew J Franklin deceased, in tail, remainder to nephew J Franklin, son of brother Joseph Franklin, in tail, remainder to all daughters of J Franklin, son of nephew J Franklin, nephews William and Thomas Franklin, and Arthur Franklin:- All freehold messuage and lands lately purchased of Mr Kidgell Sandon, at Edlesborough, Buckinghamshire House now divided into 2 tenements in North end of Leighton Buzzard, in occupation Sarah Times ½ of manor, messuage and lands, in Stanbridge etc. William Capp All other property in Leighton Buzzard and Linslade Messuage in Stoke Hammond, Buckinghamshire Messuage divided into 2 tenements, with nursery ground, at Watford, Hertfordshire to Martha Franklin, widow of brother Thomas Franklin - £5 to nephew Thomas Franklin - £200 to Peter Burrell of South Sea House, London, esquire - £50 to niece Elizabeth Hannington - £10 to nephew J Franklin, son of brother Joseph Franklin - £50 to servant Elizabeth Westly - 40s to servant Hollyday Hickinbottom - £5 to nephew William Franklin to be paid when he reaches 21 - £100 to niece Martha Franklin to be paid when she reaches 21 - £50 to Sarah Franklin, daughter of late nephew J Franklin to be paid when she reaches 21 - £40 to Arthur Franklin to be paid when he reaches 21 - £20 to J Burrell, son of Peter Burrell to be paid when he reaches 21 - £25 to Mary, Deborah, Merick and Peter Burrell, children of Peter Burrell to be paid when they reach 21 - £20 each to J Hannington, son of niece Elizabeth Hannington to be paid when he reaches 21 - £20 to Herriott Hannington and Mary Hannington, 2 daughters of niece Elizabeth Hannington to be paid when they reach 21 - £15 each At death of nephew J Franklin, £500 was owing on bond to testator; it was repaid and lent out at interest: £250 to Thomas Sayel of Horton, Buckinghamshire (23 June 1770) and £250 to Isaac Hare of Stewkley, Buckinghamshire (5 November 1770). The interest, £20, has been paid to J Franklin's widow. This payment is to continue during her life or widowhood, and then the principal is to be divided as follows: £200 to J Franklin, son of nephew J Franklin £200 to Arthur Franklin £100 to Sarah Franklin, daughter of nephew J Franklin to trustees, for their pains - £30 each Executors: above trustees to J Franklin, son of nephew J Franklin - books, best gun of shooting furniture therewith usually carried, gold headed cane, silver spurs, and all manuscript papers the trustees are to hold the estate in trust for J Franklin till he reaches 22. They are to sell all other personal estate, and let all the real estate and the nursery ground called Hickmans. If there is any surplus after above legacies are paid, it is to be distributed as follows:- £10 to J Hannington 3/5 of remainder to nephew Thomas Franklin 2/5 of remainder to nephew William Franklin
