- Date free text15 Nov 1782
- Production dateFrom: 1782 To: 1782
- Scope and ContentTransmits to Lord Howe extracts of some Proceedings after the Signature of the Preliminaries in 1762: the preliminaries being signed on 3 November, the French Military gave notice on 16th that Orders were sent to French ports to stop any ships sailing, and on 23rd, the day Exchange of Ratifications was made, an edict was published explanatory of the Preliminary Articles. Also sending Extracts and copies of what has passed on the present occasion, showing that the terms of the proclamation are not contradictory to any assurance given France. France will doubtless have issued an edict similar to the former one, and have no ground to expect any other cessation of hostilities than what is presented by the Preliminaries.
