Hoped to get copy of "the speech (Queen's Speech)". Great Ball last night "very full and very creditable" not seen in Dublin for many a year. "One of the rumours of the day was that Knatchbull had left the Cabinet as well as the D(uke) of Buckingham and I was asked, more than once, if it were so - I could only look like a fool and say I did not know" only knew about Duke's retirement from newspapers.
