Also includes the following subjects: Leah teaching piano to children Tennis and badminton Financial investments Theatre and cinema trips Her father courting Colleagues from her previous job with Igranic Birth of her neice R101 disaster Jim's work at various building sites Christmas, including presents, food and games Gardening Unemployment Fashion League of Mercy Trips to Skegness (4/8/30), London (14/6/31), Keswick (22/8/30), Whipsnade Zoo (25/5/31), London (14/6/31), Biddenham (21/9/30), Cambridge (6/4/31) and Jersey (22/8/31), as well as numerous trips to Elstow, Cardington and Kempston. Other subjects mentioned include a description of St Martin's Church (1/2/31), unemployment in Bedford (10/12/30), Jim giving blood (7/8/30), the Panacea Society (4/11/30 and 5/2/31), caoneing (17/8/30), suspected water contamination in Bedford (24/9/30), a description of All Saints Church (11/12/30) and a sketch show performed by the Moravian Scouts (28/3/31). The diary is written in shorthand from 16th of November 1931 to the end. The diary features some annotations made by Leah in the 1960s and 1980s Also included is an insert from the sixth of September 1977, requesting that the diaries be sent to 'the Bedford Records Office'.
