Scope and Content
Miss Dawson indicates that the artist was her grandfather the Revd William Alfred Dawson. She describes him as a very clever man, a Hebrew scholar, poet 'and talented in many other ways'. She goes on to say 'I think the system by which owners of documents can place such things in Record Offices without surrendering ownership sounds very good and sensible...I feel sure my grandfather & parents would approve that his work should be preserved and valued in Bedford.'
