    1) Nicholas Calton, London, apothecary 2) Robert Rogers, Tower Hill, London, merchant reciting mortgage by i) to ii) of 10 July 1723 to secure £358..15s between i) Nicholas Calton, London, apothecary ii) Charles Maitland, as above ... two messuages formerly one messuage in Bletsoe once in the occupation of John Norman then of Stephen Cross and later Robert Ashbourn alias Ashbourner of Bletsoe, and then Thomas Church ... two closes in Bletsoe once one close near the messuage and called the Home Close or Closes containing together 5 acres then or late in the tenure of Robert Ashbourn alias Ashbourner ... close lately converted to tillage called Wigney close by estimate 11 acres in Bletsoe the ground in the occupation of Nicholas Calton, gentleman West, and ground of Joseph Wilson East. all of which had lately been purchased by Joseph Wilson from Robert Ashbourn and Mary his wife, and from Henry Savage of Bletsoe, apothecary and Jane his wife, and by Joseph Wilson sold to Nicholas Calton ... a messuage with appurtenances in Bletsoe ... a parcel of 5 acres inclosed pasture lately enclosed out of Great Southfield in Bletsoe late in the tenure of Robert Ashbourne and adjoining Wigney Wood and on Humberdell Pasture ... a half acre dole of meadow [measurements and bounds given] in Little Mead, Bletsoe purchased by Joseph Wilson of John Maxey, and by Wilston sold to Nicholas Calton reciting Release and Quitclaim by i) to ii) endorsed on Mortgage, and dated 23 November 1723 in consideration of additional £10 Conveyance of all the above now in the occupation of John Pratt
