Bishop of Lichfield and Coventry Charles Chaplin, Blanknye, Lincolnshire, esquire John Wingate Jennings, Harlington, Bedfordshire, esquire 4) Culling Smith, Pope's Park, Hertfordshire, esquire Joseph Leeds, Croydon, Surrey, esquire reciting indenture 9 December 1780 [SJ200-202] being settlement on marriage of 1) with Emma Whitbread by which £300 per annum was settled on her by 2) and entrusted to 3) reciting indentures of 28 and 29 September 1791 whereby the £300 annuities were to be sold and the money (£7,500) invested in a mortgage made to the trustees by Samuel Whitbread and secured by his bond, of ... a farm in Cardington, Bedfordshire, farmhouse, cottage, closes of 36 acres, 163 acres in open fields occupied by Francis Taylor ... a farm and house and closes of 12 acres and 140 acres 2 roods in open fields of Cardington occupied by Edward White ... all other lands sold to Samuel Whitbread by indentures dated 5 and 6 August [?1791] which mortgaged lands the trustees were to hold on trusts specified reciting that Lord St John is indebted to Samuel Whitbread for £7,421 secured by bond of 25 December 1785; and for £1743..16s secured by bond dated 25 December 1787 [SJ204]; and numerous other bonds, in all £13,400 reciting proposed security for £7,421 being the mortgage mentioned and Samuel Whitbread's desire to provide for the children of Lord and Lady St John Appointment by 1) that after his death or the death of Lady St John, (whichever first happens) that the sum of £7,500 is to go to 4) on trust and he assigns his interest in the mortgage etc. firstly to secure the debt of £7,241 and any remainder to 1) and his heirs Assignment by 1) to 4) of ...
