    Market Gardening business of E M Street Ltd, The Limes, 88 Church Street, Langford. This business was begun and carried on by Ezra Mark Street, and became a Limited Company in 19... Mr Albert B Street and Douglas Street, brother and son-in-law respectively, of Exzra were in the company. It was always at The Limes, where E M Street lived with his family, Douglas, Maisie and Violet, from about 1918. The small room at the font of the house was the farm office. The farm grew the usual market garden crops of the area, but alos bought and sold other farmers' produce. Violet kept the accounts in the 1920's and in the day-to-day booking, invoices and wages. The book beginning in 1968 was the record of produce gathered, and gives the buying and selling prices. The following is an example of the records: P1. Messrs J Franklin and Son of Covent Garden Market. (They lived at Steeple Morden) 26 crates of lettuce 27 crates of string beans 95 nets of cabbage 80 nets of onions 36 nets of sprouts 167 nets of beet Griffin was a door-to-door salesman. They were called "Higglers" Transaction with Griffin is 209 paper sacks of potatoes, white. Names of other higglers were Cates, Cooper and Smythe
