The three children are posed in a studio with a painted backdrop of sky, trees, and a flight of steps with a column at the base. Leila (Leila Muriel Wilhelmina, b 1901 Houghton Conquest, Bedfordshire) is sitting on a park bench and her two brothers (Charles William, known as Charlie, b 1904 Houghton Conquest, Bedfordshire and Basil Francis John, known as Jack, b 1906 Marston Moretaine, Bedfordshire) are standing next to her. She looks approximately ten years old, Charlie, seven and Jack, five. The backing board has C A Solomons Bedford stamped into the corner. The names of the three siblings are annotated on the back of the board in pencil.
