    Comments about the American war of Independance 'Of 1500 rebels who landed on Staten Island under the command of Lord Sterling, General Sullivan and a french general, few are likely to escape as 400 were killed, 300 or 400 taken prisoners, 250 embogged in a swamp and many of the remainder not finding their boats by the activity of our men of war's boats.'
