Foster Edward John Foster of Lincolns Inn, Middlesex esquire, barrister at law William Fowler of Town of Huntingdon, solicitor iii) Charles Powers of Biggleswade esquire recites: Indenture of Settlement 12 September 1796 (i) Ann Byles (afterwards Foster) of Ipswich, Suffolk, spinster (ii) John Foster of Biggleswade merchant (iii) Nathaniel Byles of Ipswich, merchant William Foster of St Neots, Huntingdonshire, brewer premises to use of John for life, remainder to Ann then to their heirs whereas: Ann died in lifetime of said John Foster recites: Indenture 11 January 1833 i) Robert Lindsell of Biggleswade gentleman William Hogg of Biggleswade gentleman II) John Foster III) John Nathaniel Foster . freehold premises assured to II) as he should appoint or in default of appointment to use of John Foster for life, remainder to John Nathaniel Foster during life of John Foster to use of John Foster, remainder to his heirs; copyhold premises assured to John Foster to be admitted tenant recites: admission at court 1 May 1835 recites: Lease & Release 18 & 19 October 1838 (l) Right Honourable Robert Henry Ongley Lord Oughly [sic] (II) John Foster (Ill) John Nathaniel Foster premises confirmed to (II) as he should appoint, in default to use of John Foster for life, remainder to John Nathaniel Foster during life of John Foster in trust for said John Foster recites: will of John Foster 6 February 1847 specifically described premises hereinafter firstly, secondly & thirdly described, then devised all real estate to use of son John Foster for life, then as he should appoint with freedom to sell, monies arising to be paid to persons named by John Nathaniel Foster as trustees. N. Foster to premises recites: Indenture 18 August 1855 I. Frederick Hogg William Lindsell II. John Nathaniel Foster III. William Fowler freehold premises confirmed to II. on trusts as he should appoint, remainder to III. on trust for II.; covenants to surrender copyhold to use of II. recites: Admission at court 25 July 1868 of J. N. Foster according to tenor of above recites: Indenture 6 August 1868 i] Francis Frederick Lovell of Whinchelsea Lodge, Hampshire esquire, Iord of manor of Biggleswade ii] John Nathaniel Foster iii] Edward John Foster - premises hereinafter secondly & fourthly described were enfranchised recites: Indenture 29 February 1856 [i] Edmond Powers of Biggleswade miller [ii] John Nathaniel Foster [iii] William Fowler - premises fifthly hereinafter described were conveyed to [ii] during his life, remainder to [iii] during life of [ii], remainder to [ii] & heirs for ever whereas: Land Tax for hereinafter-described premises has been redeemed whereas: i) is exercising power of sale under will of John Foster whereas: agreed that £2,850 is price of copyhold & £180 for freehold making total of £3,030 (to be received by Edward John Foster & William Fowler, trustees); also agreed that common rights should be reserved to the vendor now: i) revokes uses of said will & covenants to surrender to iii) - property as in X440/562 further: i) conveys secondly - freehold ground (formerly part copyhold) part of front garden. East of said road called St Andrews Street leading to the Mill Lane : North garden in occupation of Mr Coulshaw with frontage thereto of 38' 6" : South cottage late of John Foster deceased in occupation of James Thompson & garden with frontage thereto 58' : East gable end of barn frontage 12' & premises hereinafter fourthly described, frontage 74' : West St Andrews Street frontage 94' thirdly; - freehold meadow or pasture near Mill 1 rood 3 perches being freehold part of Little Meadow : North West copyhold part of same : South bridle way from Biggleswade to Frog Hall : East river Ivel further consideration: £120 fourthly: - freehold ground formerly part copyhold, part of Swan Garden : West premises secondly described, uniform depth 9' therefrom : North garden now in occupation of Mr Oulshaw [sic] : South remainder Swan Garden frontage thereto 73' 6" : East barn before mentioned - the Island 1 rood in the Mill Tail in the river Ivel opposite the grounds of first described mansion house witness: William Hall, clerk to Mr Fowler solicitor Huntingdon Frederick W.
