    John Nathaniel Foster of Sandy Place, Sandy, esquire in consideration of £4,500 paid by Gerrard Heberden Andrewes of Broom Hall esquire to the above & his nominees, viz: Edward John Foster of Lincolns Inn, Middlesex, barrister at Law, William Fowler of Huntingdon, Huntingdonshire, solicitor, for purchase of copyhold premises hereinafter described surrender: - close in Biggleswade with mansion house, stables, coachhouse & buildings thereon formerly called Farm Close & then called Beaumont Close & Walnut Tree Close reputed to contain 4 acres but found to be 4 acres 3 roods 8 perches, formerly 2 closes of land lying next to the river Ivel with right of way from Shortmead Street over parcel of ground forming yard of cottage now in occupation of John Lake situated at South East of tenements hereinbefore mentioned - cottage with appurtanances in Biggleswade in Shortmead Street : South premises Henry Williams formerly part of premises hereby surrendered formerly in occupation of Benjamin Ford since Thomas Beaumont & late William Hughes then Elizabeth Hide - cottage in Shortmead Street or End in Biggleswade near messuage late of George Herbert then of Cornelius Pateman Herbert & Nathaniel Herbert then William Walker esquire - close adjoining & belonging 1 rood reserving to John Nathaniel Foster right of common pertaining to tenement thirdly described above all which premises are now described as: capital messuage, with stable, coachouse yard, garden & paddock adjoining 4 acres 3 roods 8 perches in Biggleswade, for many years in occupation of Blyth Foster now lately deceased - 3 messuages with outbuildings etc having a side entrance from Dark [? Back] Lane & situated at North East end of the capital messuage & having frontage to Shortmead Street of 58' in occupation of Mrs Roberts, J. Brown & one unoccupied to use of said G.H. Andrewes Berridge & Morris, Leicester
