    i) Robert Audley Britain of Stanstead Abbott, Hertfordshire, clerk & wife Elizabeth ii) Frances Osborn of Great Amwell, Hertfordshire, widow recites: Deed to Lead the Uses of a Fine & Make a Tenant to the Precipe for Suffering a Common Recovery 18 September 1727 (i) Mercy Rudd of Welbourn, Lincolnshire, widow and daughter & coheir of Robert Audley late of Welbourn, esquire, deceased said Robert Audley Britain, eldest son & heir of Elizabeth Brittain, deceased, late wife of Baron Britain, late of Sandy, gentleman, deceased, which Elizabeth was other daughter & coheir of Robert Audley (ii) John Sowray of Furnivals Inn, London, gentleman (iii) Jonas Sedgly of Staples Inn, London, gentleman (iv) said Frances Osborn fine to be levied by (i) to (ii) of: - inn in Biggleswade in occupation of Robert Cooper & several cottages in Biggleswade in occupation of James Pepper, Robert Christmas, Robert Hartley, Thomas Christmas, Solomon Dear, William Mayes, Mary Raunce - 12 acres called the Saffron Ground in Biggleswade, part ploughed, part mowing in occupation of Henry Gwyn - 12 acres meadows divided into 4 closes in Biggleswade in occupation of Richard Hyde all heretofore estate of Robert Audley esq deceased also (ii) to suffer common recovery with (iii) as demandant fine & recovery to be to such uses as Robert Audley Britain & Elizabeth shall appoint. now: consideration of £300 lent by ii) to i) - property, as above for term of 1,000 years. witness: James Windus, William Windus Endorsements: Memo that only £160 was lent by ii) but that the deed of mortgage will remain as a security 8 March 1728 Receipt of £140 & note that the interest is to begin from this date & to be on £140 not £300
