    Admission i) Thomas Marshall of Biggleswade, butcher (as tenant in possession) John Marshall of St James Market, Middlesex, butcher, eldest child of above by late wife Mary nee Trustram (as tenant in reversion expectant on death of above) on surrender of: ii) Thomas Marshall of Biggleswade, butcher in pursuance of Deed Poll of Appointment 25 December [X440/299] by said Thomas by virtue of power vested by X440/296 which is recited, as also is X440/297 - site or parcel of land on which there stood the Queen's Head Inn & appurtenances in occupation Robert Cooper, then John Pryor at rent 3s 10d per annum & on which there also stood 3 copyhold cottages in occupation of Robert Christmas, James Pepper & John Howard, afterwards divided into 4 in occupation of James Pepper, William Hawkins, Valentine Beldam & widow Lincoln & on which there also stood 4 cottages part freehold & part copyhold near Queen's Head Inn back gate, formerly in occupation of William Pope, John Tarr, Alexander Endersby & John Albion & then of George Lincoln, Thomas Albion, William Pope & John Tarr all which premises were on 16 June 1785 totally burnt down & destroyed by fire to which i) was admitted on surrender of his father now deceased by X440/297 rent: 3 10d & 1s 3d fine: 3s 4d & 2/3 of a penny then: Admission (i) John French of Biggleswade, gentleman, on surrender of (ii) as (i) above property, rents & fines as above, plus 5d fine surrendered same to use of will copy examined 29 December 1832 by Edward Argles, solicitor, Biggleswade & George Webster, Biggleswade
