    abstracts: X440/149, /152; will of Edward Rudd 1765 [see X440/204]; /154,/199; will Edward Rudd 1797 [see /204], /160 also at court 27 February 1801 by direction of executors of surviving executors of Robert Thurgood brewer deceased, Robert Thurgood the great nephew & Richard Edmund Rudd surrenders to use of Margaret Rudd widow who is admitted - 2 acres 2 roods called the Pightle in Hitchmead Biggleswade in occupation George Chalkley Taylor - 2 small parcels past in Hitchmead Biggleswade occupied as above 8 July 1811 Indenture i) Margaret Rudd widow ii) Reverend Edward Miles Rudd of Kemsey, Worcestershire, clerk, brother & heir at law & customary heir at law of Richard Edmund Rudd, deceased, who was eldest son & heir at law of said Edward Rudd the grandson Thomas Anderson Rudd esquire, youngest son of said Edward Rudd the grandson iii) John Bricheno iv) Isaac Hindley recites: Indenture of Release & Settlement 31 August 1769 (i) Edward Rudd the grandson (ii) said Margaret Rudd by maiden name of Margaret Mills (iii) Mathew Duane esquire Richard Rudd gentleman marriage intended between (i) & (ii) (i) covenants with (iv) to surrender before 29 September next his copyhold premises of manor of Biggleswade to use of (iv) in trust for securing to (ii) £100 per annum & subject thereto, in trust for (i) whereas: no surrender made; Edward Rudd died 1797, made will (before recited) Margaret Rudd proved will in Prerogative Court Canterbury; she was admitted to copyhold premises 27 February 1801. Richard Edmund Rudd since died without issue leaving Edward Miles Rudd his heir at law. In pursuance of trusts under said will i) has contracted with iii) for sale of copyhold premises being part of hereditaments directed to be sold & she agrees to release same from said sum of £100 consideration: £3,900 paid to i) by iii) i) conveys to iii) - last described premises i) covenants to surrender same to iii) 15 July 1811 Admission of John Bricheno to said premises on surrender of Margaret Rudd endorsed: Lindsell.
