    Probate of the Will of Mrs Mary Towne, deceased, of Worthing, Sussex, widow and relict of of Reverend Leonard Elye Towne, late of Kimpton, Leicestershire, clerk - to sister Frances Maria Cholmley annual proceeds from £1,617 2s 6d Bank stock, in Bank of England, in names of trustees of her marriage settlement, for life, and then whole sum to be given to Sarah Elye Norris and Frances Elye Norris, daughters of Reverend Thomas Norris, equally. If they die without issue then stock to be divided among Reverend Thomas Elye Norris, Reverend John Elye Norris and William Norris, sons of late Reverend Thomas Norris - to sister Francis Maria Cholmley, for life, and then to sister in law, Jane, widow of late brother Lewin Cholmley pictures and trinkets - to sister Frances Maria Cholmley plate, linen, china, books, wines, clothes and gold watch - to friend, Lady Bridges, wife of Sir Henry Bridges, of Bebbington Park, Surrey £50 - to friend, Mrs Higgens, Ewell, Surrey, widow £50 - to friend Susannah Anderson "if living with me at my decease" £50 - to each of the executors £100 - to George David Faithfull, Thomas Elye Norris, and William Norris, on trust residue of personal estate (except household furniture etc), to pay interest, dividends and proceeds, to sister Frances for life and £200 each to Elizabeth Ann Norris, Catherine Norris and Isabella Sarah Norris, daughters of Charles Norris, and residure to cousins Henrietta Maria Comber and Mary Ellicombe, equally - to sister Frances for life, and then to Charles Green Ellicombe for life, then to Thomas Elye Norris, Charles Norris, John Elye Norris and Eilliam Norris, as shall be living at the death of sister Frances Power to appoint new trustees Trustees also appointed executors witnesses: Richard Edmunds William Beck 17 July 1852 With codicil bequest of £50 to Susannah Anderson revoked If Elizabeth Ann Norris, and Isabella Sarah Norris, continue to reside with sister, Frances, during her life, then executors to purchase a Government annuity of £50 each for them witnesses: Richard Edmunds Gruvalt Hobgen 24 February 1857 Probate, granted to George David Faithfull, and Thomas Elye Elye (heretofore Thomas Elye Norris) and William and Thomas Norris. Testatrix died on 9 April 1857. Sworn at under £8,000. PCC. 20 April 1857
