    Probate of the will of Jane Cholmley, spinster, deceased, Worthing, Sussex - to sisters Henrietta Ann Cholmley, Mary Towne, Frances Maria Cholmley household furniture, plate, liquors, clothes, gold watch chain, books etc to hold equally - to brother Lewin Cholmley, Colonel Charles Green Ellicombe, Cadogan Place, Chelsea and Nathaniel Barwell Esq., Ashfold, Sussex residue of personal estate (after payment of debts etc) in trust to pay proceeds to sisters for life. After their decease, then in trust for brother Lewin Cholmley for life and for children when 21. If no children, then in trust for sister in law Jane, wife of Lewin Cholmley, and cousins Henrietta Maria Comber, widow of late Thomas Comber Esq., and Mary Ellicombe, wife of Colonel Charles Green Ellicombe, equally, and on death of last survivor, in trust to pay moiety of proceeds to cousin Osborne Barwell, now residing at Dieppe, for life, then to children. Other moiety to Nathaniel Barwell for life, then to his children. Provision for appointment of new trustees Trustees appointed executors witnesses: Richard Edmunds Robert Tidey 29 April 1839 Probate (PCC) granted to Charles Grene (in will Green) Ellicombe Esq., surviving executor. Power being given to Nathaniel Barwell (other surviving executor) to apply also. Testatrix died on 2nd February 1850. Sworn at under £8,000. 6 April 1850
