- Scope and ContentLetter from Tunbridge, hope water agrees; memories of town. Sorry for account of Lord Marchmont? wanted to know whether Lord Polwarth's visit seemed to give any pleasure; suppose very little. Rain here since came on Sunday between church and dinner; not yet seen new walk. Yesterday all drove to Lord Polwarth's farm; under Seckham's guidance went round warren part before alighted at house - rooms in highest order and neatness (Mr Amis out, gone to Biggleswade market to buy hogs.) [A long account of apparent mismanagement at meeting of Luton turnpike trustees]. Sister rode each morning; 1st day Trap escorted her home and has not chose to return to the farm. Kitten: we do not think it a great beauty nor genteely educated.
