    Agreement Parties: (i) Elizabeth Hockliffe of Dale Cottage, Pavenham, widow; Ernest Hockliffe of Harrow Court Farm, Tickenham [Somerset], professor of literature, retired; William Llewelyn Jones of Bedford, solicitor; (ii) Maurice Frederic Rich Hockliffe of 79 Goldington Avenue, Bedford Operative Part, inter alia: - (i) will continue to employ (ii) as manager of the business carried on at 86 and 88 High Street and 8 Lime Street, Bedford; - (ii) would continue to act as manager for the business; - (i) reserved power to discontinue any department of the business not turning a profit; - banker to be Westminster Bank, Bedford; - (ii) not to pledge employees' credit unless authorised by (i); - (ii)' salary from 1 October 1933 to be £54/3/4 per calendar month (£650 per annum) under Deed of Arrangement of 6 November 1933 between (1) (i); (2) Elizabeth Hockliffe; (3) Kathleen Mary Craig; (4) (ii); - (ii) was entitled to one month's holiday per annum taken when (i) saw fit; - agreement determinable by either party at three months' notice Schedule: - report by (ii) giving economies and suggestions regarding future policy dated September 1933 be put into immediate effect; - employment of a shorthand typist as replacement for the current secretary as soon as possible, salary not exceeding £2 per week if (ii) considered it essential; - Lime Street business to be carried on by a sub-manager, salary not exceeding £3/10/- per week; the other two staff at Lime Street to be a junior assistant and a boy; - cut in salary of assistants from 1 October 1933 as follows: £2-3 per week cut by 5%; £3-4 per week cut by 7.5%; £4 per week and over cut by 10%; - abolition of Christmas bonuses to assistants or reduction by 50%; - any shelving or carpentary work to be done as far as possible by the Picture Framing Department Witnesses: - Annie Clare of Elm Cottages, Pavenham; - Lilian Dordery of Tickenham, domestic servant; - H M Dimmock, clerk to Sharman & Trethewy of Bedford, solicitor "Cancelled as from 9 February 1935"
