  • Production date
    From: 1771 To: 1840
  • Scope and Content
Note: John Thomas Dawson acquired the property described in HT1/15/1 through three different transactions, and a few of the earlier deeds have been retained by the Clerk to the Trustees. It seems that part of property A described in HT1/15/1 was conveyed by the Reverend Brook Bridges to William Theed by lease and release dated 1/2 October 1771 and that it then descended with the main property covered by HT1/13/10 - 17. Dawson acquired the property in 1807, and sold most of it to the Trustees in 1831, retaining part of the garden and entering into a covenant with the Trustees for the production of the title deeds on 3 February 1831. This part of the garden is probably covered as property A in HT1/15/1. Property B in HT1/15/1 was conveyed to Dawson by lease and release dated 23/24 August 1808 by William Butlin, who was devisee in trust of William Theed. This property appears to be another part of the garden. The remainder of the property, described in HT1/15/1 as C, was conveyed to Dawson by lease and release of 3/4 July 1815
