    i) John Thomas Dawson late of Bedford, but now of Woodlands, Clapham, Esquire ii) Trustees of the Bedford Charity Recites: HT1/13/17 Also recites lease of 2 November 1818 1) Masters, Governors and Trustees of the Bedford Charity 2) John Thomas Dawson lease by 1) to 2) for 99 years from 25 March 1809 [sic] of - slip of ground being part of the yard of the Hospital situate in Angel Street in the parish of St. Paul, Bedford, separated from the said yard on the north side and at the west end by a brick boundary wall, abutting on the said messuage, and east on Angel Street. Used as a passage way. Whereas: ii) have agreed with i) for the purchase of property (below) and for the surrender of the lease recited above NOW consideration: £2,500 paid by ii) to i), i) directs that property shall be held to use of ii) and grants to ii) - capital messuage situate towards the South end of Sheeps Cheaping alias Angel Street in the parish of St. Paul, Bedford, formerly in the occupation of George Sharp, late of i), and now unoccupied :N. The passage or back way to the messuage, being the leasehold premises hereinafter assigned and surrendered, and partly on the ground of the said trustees :S. messuage or tenement late of Richard Leach, afterwards of George Sharp, and now of John Pulley :E. place formerly called the Bull Ring, now known as St. Paul's Square - yard and piece of garden ground adjoining and belonging to the said messuage or tenement, lately in the occupation of the said George Sharp, and afterwards of i) and now unoccupied, which said piece of garden is part of the garden heretofore belonging to the messuage and is now fenced off from the remainder thereof :W. the other part of the garden, retained by i) :N. garden of the Hospital of the said Trustees :S. partly on the messuage late of Richard Leach, now of John Pulley, partly on the cottages or tenements late of William Watkins and now of i), and partly on Horn Lane in further consideration of the said sum of £2,500, i) surrenders the slip of ground held by the lease of 2 November 1818 and assigns residue of the term of 99 years to ii) endorsed: receipts by i) to ii) for £2,500 also endorsed: note of registration of freehold title in H.M.
