    i) Thomas Christie of Bedford, Esquire ii) Thomas Lavender of Podington, husbandman iii) Francis Beckett of Bedford, Gentleman Recites: HT1/1/5 Whereas: money was not paid, and Robert Crompton became seized of the premises in fee simple; title and interest of Robert Crompton and of Francis Beckett was conveyed to Thomas Christie by “several mesne conveyances and assurances well and duly executed” (this refers to Crompton’s interest being conveyed indirectly to Christie through deeds HT1/1/6-9); Thomas Christie at the request of Francis Beckett has sold Corne Close to Robert Fareman of Bedford, baker. Now: in consideration £250 paid by Thomas Lavender to Thomas Christie (the sum owed by Francis Beckett to Thomas Christie as part of a greater sum lent on the security of premises), and 5s. paid by Thomas Lavender to Francis Beckett, Thomas Christie and Francis Beckett grant to Thomas Lavender - farmhouse at the Southend of Angel Street alias Sheeps Cheaping in the parish of St. Paul, Bedford. :E., W., and N. as in HT1/1/1. :S. on said tenement of Thomas Hawes, now in tenure of Paul Cobb, Gentleman Repayment: £257 on 2 May 1679 at dwelling house of ii) in Podington Endorsed: Livery of Seisin Receipt by ii) for £101..15. repaid by Simon Beckett on 24 August 1695 Witnesses: Richard Lavender Edward Munnes S.
