Admission at General Court Baron of Evelyn Simpson (through his attorney John Edward Thurnall of Royston) under will of late Joseph Simpson of Baldock to public house in Potton formerly known as the Maidenhead and then as the Queens Head, to which Joseph Simpson had been admitted on 28 July 1854 as in Z1578/POT/1/13.

    Presented that: - Thomas George Simpson, for whom half share had been held in trust, died at 14 Cavendish Place (Middx) on 9 December 1889 leaving his only son Francis Tom Simpson of Baldock as his heir at law. - Joseph Simpson died on 6 October 1893 and by his will dated 23 January 1890 (proved in PPR on 4 December 1893) under which his son Evelyn Simpson of Baldock, esquire, was appointed executor and residual legatee after payment of certain pecuniary legacies. Half share of property to be held in trust for Francis Tom Simpson and Evelyn Simpson to hold the other half according to custom of the manor and at 1½d p.a. rent. Entry fine of 1½d paid.
