- TitleManor of Potton Much Manured. Copy of admission at house of Willliam Wilshire, steward of the manor at Hitchin, of Edward Ind of Romford (Essex), brewer. Ind informed Wilshire that James Ind, late of Baldock, had held for a yearly rent of 1½d a tenement in Potton formerly occupied by John Cox, then Samuel Mason and now by William Dear, formerly known by the name of the Maidenhead and now known as the Queens Head, to which James Ind had been admitted on 2 June 1802 on surrender of William Warner. Cites the will of James Ind dated 19 November 1810 devising the residue of his real estate including the said tenement to his son James Ind, but does not appear that the testator made any surrender of the tenement to the use of his will. James Ind the younger died intestate June 1811 without issue and without having been admitted tenant of the premises. Edward Ind admitted as son of elder James Ind brother and heir of the son. `
