Merry Christmas. Play, ball; planning rout on Queen's birthday, when Bishop will be out of study. 28 December 1775. [latter part of letter]. Up till 2 a.m. Last night's performance (The Way to Keep Him) exceeded former, almost every part well acted - Mrs Hubbart and Miss Bertie superior to professionals. Arrived home safe without using moon lanthorn borrowed from Lord Monson. Will Lady Mary send news of fashions, birthday etc.
