    Dean has written about journey, can't imagine anything worse than the roads, but plenty of dry gravel walking about the house. Garden smells sweet. Satisfaction in change of situation. Commission about web-footed birds - Dean has left order for them and will write again in autumn. Lady Margaret regrets friends being gone to Wrest, her condition. Miss Talbot rather better. Hopes Ladies Bell and Mary make use of fine weather to mount their horses; has had the rust rubbed off stirrups and intends mounting soon. Children as wild as possible now they have got liberty.
