Joseph's arrival (details); looks very thin and very sallow; has a very severe degree of scurvy (already giving way); had fever at Jamaica; finds it cold here; cheerfulness, good humour and innocence the same; understanding enlarged; behaviour more manly; no improper word; luggage did not arrive - tailor, shoemaker and sempstress with united effort supplied 2nd suit. Sir Charles' parental care. Brought a scorpion in a vial for Caroline. Glad Hardwicke better.
