Pleased to have news through Bishop of Ely and Mrs Yorke; glad Earl no worse - Dr Plumptre has not written, as Earl spoke of difficulty of writing. Thanks for 5 guineas from Mr Barton for poor at Wimpole, and proposes to draw 2 guineas more for needy cases, on return to Cambridge. Doctor well, daughter says her child is nearly 6 months, both lately inoculated (children) and have had the small pox very favourably; Joseph now a settled housekeeper; Doctor visited his living in spring, flat country, but well cultivated and not fenny. Leaving in December.
